Indigo Bunting

On our bird walk in Farmington, Maine (not ont he island), toward the end, I pulled up Merlin on my phone. By listening to the environment, it suggested that several birds were in the area singing, including a an American Redstart, Warbling Virio, Northern Cardinal, Yellow Warbler and an Indigo Bunting. I figured out the song it was ID-ing as the Bunting and walked slowly in its direction. As I approached a flash of blue shot out of some shrubs near the river — I had seen this beautiful bird.
