I created a time lapse video of sorts to watch the changes occurring in a nearby maple tree.

Yes, I know it is a Norway Maple, and that they are considered invasive and aggressive. They were heavily planted following the emergence of Dutch Elm Disease to replace those magnificent native trees that were killed off. I hope to do more research, because I don’t want Norways outcompeting the sugar, silver, reds and other maples that I grew up with in Maine. But I also wonder if, in a hundred years from now, with a dramatically changed climate, we won’t think a little bit differently about these resilient trees.
